Install the Salesforce Development Plugin

Install the Salesforce Development plugin, then connect a Salesforce DX project and development org.

Install Claude Code before you install the plugin. Install the other required tools before you use the plugin’s workflows:

  • Claude Code 2.1.222 or later
  • A Node.js long-term support (LTS) release
  • Salesforce CLI
  • Python 3.8 or later

Direct access to the plugin requires Salesforce Foundations or an Agentforce license. Salesforce classifies plugin calls made through a coding agent as Builder usage and applies a billing exception.

Before installation, review usage telemetry and privacy.

  1. Review the Salesforce Development plugin listing in the official Claude Plugin Marketplace and the Salesforce Development plugin README for the current skills, commands, and component inventory.
  2. From a terminal, run claude plugin install salesforce-development@claude-plugins-official.
  3. Start a Claude Code session and run /plugin to verify that the plugin is installed.

Next, set up a Salesforce DX project and development org.
