Set Up Metadata Visualizer Extension
You can use the Metadata Visualizer capabilities by setting up the Metadata Visualizer extension using VS Code, or by accessing it through Agentforce Vibes.
Metadata Visualizer is available in the VS Code marketplace and the Open VSX registry. Metadata Visualizer is enabled by default. Any developer with access to a Salesforce org can use the extension and visualize metadata in their code.
Before you begin, ensure that your development environment meets these requirements.
VS Code releases a new version each month with new features and important bug fixes. You must be on the version of VS Code that's currently supported by us. See Minimum VS Code version for more information. You can manually check for updates from Help > Check for Updates on Linux and Windows or Code > Check for Updates on macOS.
Ensure that you have a Salesforce DX project open. To create one, see Create Project.
Checkpoints require Git. Install Git on your machine so that snapshots of your workspace can be created as you work, enabling rollbacks and change tracking across tasks.

After installation, confirm that Git is installed by running this command in a terminal:
Disable Metadata Visualizer to prevent the extension from being used in VS Code when this org is the default org.
From Setup, enter Agentforce Vibes in the Quick Find box, then select Agentforce Vibes.
If you don’t see Agentforce Vibes as an option under Setup in your org, it’s probably not available in that edition.
You can enable Metadata Visualizer in VS Code or Agentforce Vibes IDE. Click the Agentforce Vibes icon in the status bar to open the Command Palette, and then select Enable or Disable. Use the Agentforce Vibes status icon in the bottom panel to confirm the current state: when enabled, the icon background matches the status bar color; when disabled, the icon background is brown.
