Build Storefront Next Faster with Agent Skills and the B2C DX MCP Server

Use agent skills and the B2C DX Model Context Protocol (MCP) server as part of the Agentic B2C Developer Toolkit to enhance your development workflow. Connect an AI coding agent, such as Claude, Cursor, Codex, or GitHub Copilot, to your B2C Commerce environment to perform storefront administration tasks, access B2C Commerce APIs (SCAPI), and create custom endpoints. Build Storefront Next, deploy cartridges, and deploy to Managed Runtime (MRT).

For more information, see Agentic B2C Developer Toolkit in the B2C Developer Toolkit documentation.

With the agent skills plugins, ground your coding agent in the B2C CLI, Storefront Next idioms, and common backend B2C development tasks such as custom API, job development, log analysis, and more. Agent skills use the CLI and the MCP server.

These are the available plugins for agent skills.

  • b2c-cli: B2C CLI commands and operations — code deployment, job execution, site archives, WebDAV, On-Demand Sandbox management
  • b2c: B2C Commerce development patterns — controllers, ISML, forms, localization, logging, metadata, web services, custom job steps, Page Designer, Business Manager extensions, Custom APIs
  • storefront-next: Storefront Next development — project setup, routing, data fetching, components, Page Designer, authentication, i18n, extensions, testing, and deployment to Managed Runtime
  • b2c-dx-mcp: Automatic project type detection and B2C Commerce workflows for your AI assistant.

For more information, see Agent Skills & Plugins.

These are some common tasks to perform with agent skills and the MCP server.

Build and customize your storefront in your AI coding agent.

  • Storefront Next: Get development guidelines and add Page Designer decorators.
  • SCAPI: Discover schemas, check custom API status, and create new endpoints. The SCAPI tool is always available.
  • Cartridges: Deploy cartridges to B2C instances.
  • Managed Runtime administration: Bundle a pre-built project, upload it to MRT, and deploy it to a target environment.

Enter a prompt in your AI coding agent to activate the corresponding skill, which is based on an MCP tool. For more information, see MCP Server in the B2C Developer Toolkit documentation.

Modify the Figma design file that the storefront setup in Business Manager generates. Use an agent skill or the B2C DX MCP server to convert the design file to Storefront Next components, match tokens to themes, and analyze components. The Figma MCP tools require an external Figma MCP server.

For more information and installation instructions, see MCP Server and Figma-to-Component Tools Setup in the B2C Developer Toolkit documentation.
