Monitor the Cloning Process

Track the progress of clone operations and view details about cloned sandboxes in Control Center.

Once the clone is initiated:

1. The source sandbox shows status Cloning in the instance list.
2. All actions for the source sandbox are temporarily disabled.
3. The cloning process includes these stages:
   • Prep Instance: Validation and preparation
   • Data Backup: Creating consistent snapshot
   • Data Restore: Provisioning and restoring data
   • Post Validation: Configuration and activation
4. When cloning completes, the source sandbox returns to its previous state (Running or Stopped) and all actions are re-enabled.

As the cloned sandbox is created:

1. The target sandbox appears in the instance list with status Setting Up.
2. When setup completes, the status changes to Running (if clone succeeds) or Failed (if clone fails).
3. A Clone badge appears next to the cloned instance. Click the badge to view clone details:
   • Source instance identifier
   • Target instance identifier
   • Clone timestamp
   • Storefront count
   • Custom code version
   • Database size
   • File system size
