Assign Licenses for Agentforce Vibes

As an admin or sandbox user with admin permissions, you control whether users in your org can access Agentforce Vibes. In a sandbox, you can typically assign licenses and permission sets to yourself if the sandbox has the required licenses from the production org. Access requires a chain of three things to be in place for each user: Einstein enabled, a permission set license (PSL) assigned, and a permission set assigned. A user only gets access when all are present.

Agentforce Vibes offers two billing models. All paid Agentforce Vibes users require Flex. Unmetered access requires Flex setup plus an additional stock-keeping unit (SKU).

  • Flex (Metered)—users pay per prompt via Flex Credits. Required for all paid Agentforce Vibes users.

  • Unmetered (Add-on)—in addition to the models available in Flex, users also receive access to:

    • An unmetered model that doesn’t consume Flex Credits.
    • A premium model that includes a limited monthly allocation of tokens at no additional cost.

You need:

  • Salesforce admin access to the org you’re configuring.
  • A qualifying SKU provisioned by your Salesforce account team (see the requirements for each setup).
  • The list of users who need access.
  • Einstein enabled.
  1. In your org Setup, enter Einstein Setup in the Quick Find box, then select Einstein Setup.
  2. If Einstein isn’t on, select Turn on Einstein.

Einstein is the org-level toggle required for every AI feature. Nothing downstream works until it’s on.

To set up Flex access, your org must have one of these Foundation Entitlement SKUs:

  • Salesforce Foundations—Entitlements—Flex Credits
  • Salesforce Foundations—Entitlements—Flex Credits—OEM
  • Salesforce Foundations—Entitlements—Flex Credits—VAR
  • Flex—Entitlements—Agentforce 1 Edition

These SKUs cost nothing extra, include Flex Credits, and you can self-provision them. If you aren’t sure which SKU your org has, contact your Salesforce account executive.

Now, complete these steps for all users:

  1. Confirm That Your PSL is Provisioned
  2. Assign the Permission Set

Go to Setup > Company Information> Permission Set Licenses and verify that Agentforce Platform Developer and Admin appears in the list.

If it’s missing, your org doesn’t have a qualifying SKU yet. Contact your Salesforce account executive and ask them to provision one of the Foundation Entitlement SKUs listed earlier. There’s nothing that you can do in-product until the PSL appears.

  1. In Setup, enter Permission Sets in the Quick Find box, then select Permission Sets.
  2. Select Agentforce Developer and Admin Tools.
  3. Select Manage Assignments > Add Assignments.
  4. Select the users who need Agentforce Vibes and confirm the assignment.
  5. The permission set license and permission set are both now assigned to the users.

Flex setup is Complete. Users now have access to Agentforce Vibes, billed via Flex Credits. Stop here if Flex access is all you need.

Unmetered access builds on the Flex setup. Complete that setup before continuing.

To set up unmetered access, your org must have the Agentforce 360 Platform—Developer and Admin Tools SKU. Purchasing this SKU automatically provisions the Foundation Entitlement (Flex) SKU as well, so if you’re starting fresh, you can purchase only this SKU.

If you aren’t sure whether your org has this SKU, contact your Salesforce account executive.

Now, complete these steps for all users:

  1. Confirm that Your Unmetered PSL Is Provisioned
  2. Confirm the Flex Permission Set Assignment
  3. Create the Custom Unmetered Permission Set
  4. Add the Unmetered System Permission to the Permission Set
  5. Assign the Custom Permission Set to Users

Go to Setup > Company Information > Permission Set Licenses and verify that Unmetered Platform Developer and Admin AI User appears in the list.

If it’s missing, your org doesn’t have the unmetered SKU yet. Contact your Salesforce account executive and ask them to provision Agentforce 360 Platform—Developer and Admin Tools. There’s nothing that you can do in-product until the PSL appears.

If that setup is already complete, skip this step. Verify that each user still has Agentforce Developer and Admin Tools assigned from the Flex setup.

  1. In Setup, enter Permission Sets in the Quick Find box, then select Permission Sets.
  2. Select New.
  3. Give the permission set a descriptive label (for example, Unmetered Vibes).
  4. Set License to Unmetered Platform Developer and Admin AI User.
  5. Save.
  1. Open the custom permission set you created.
  2. Select System Permissions, then select Edit.
  3. In Find Settings, enter unmetered.
  4. Enable the Provides access to unmetered Agentforce Vibes and AI-powered developer and admin tools permission.
  5. Save.
  6. The permission set license and permission set are both now assigned to the users.
  1. On the custom permission set, select Manage Assignments > Add Assignments.
  2. Select the users who need unmetered access.
  3. Confirm the assignment.
  4. The permission set license and permission set are both now assigned to the users.

Unmetered setup is complete. Users now have unmetered access to Agentforce Vibes with no per-prompt billing.

  • PSL missing from Setup. If a PSL doesn’t appear in Setup > Company Information > Permission Set Licenses, your org doesn’t have the required SKU. Contact your Salesforce account executive. For metered access, ask for a Foundation Entitlement SKU. For unmetered access, ask for Agentforce 360 Platform—Developer and Admin Tools.
  • Unmetered requires Flex. Complete the Flex setup before configuring unmetered access. The entitlement chain is cumulative.
  • Track usage. Use Digital Wallet to monitor near real-time Flex Credits across your active contracts. See About Digital Wallet.
