Prepare Your Amazon S3 Connection
Before you set up a connection in Data Cloud, gather the required information and complete the necessary actions in Amazon S3.
- Identify the name of the S3 bucket that stores your data.
- Note the directory (folder) path within the bucket that contains your files.
- Gather the following info based on how you want to authenticate the Salesforce and S3 connection.
- If you want to use an access key and secret, obtain the Access Key ID and Secret Access Key for an IAM user.
- If you want to use an Identity Provider (IdP), obtain the IAM Role Amazon Resource Name (ARN).
- Ensure the IAM user or role has the necessary S3 permissions for your use case. See Amazon S3 Bucket Policies and Permissions for details.
- If your Amazon S3 bucket restricts access by IP address, add the Data Cloud IP addresses to your S3 allowlist.
After gathering this information and completing these actions in Amazon S3, you can start setting up your Amazon S3 connection in Salesforce.
