Set Up an Azure Cosmos DB Connection (Beta)

Set up the Azure Cosmos DB connection to start the flow of data into Data Cloud.

This feature is a Beta Service. A customer may opt to try a Beta Service in its sole discretion. User Permissions Needed 
To create a connection:System Administrator

Before you begin:

  • Enable the Beta connector through the feature manager. See Enable Data Cloud Features.
  • Verify your admin has enabled firewalls on the system you want Data Cloud to connect to by including these IP addresses to your allowlists.
  • If using named credentials for Authentication Method, set up OAuth based authentication or for Microsoft.
  • Create external and named credentials.
  1. In Data Cloud, click Setup, and select Data Cloud Setup.

  2. Under External Integrations, select Other Connectors.

  3. Click New.

  4. On the Source tab, select Azure Cosmos DB and click Next.

  5. Enter a connection name and connection API name.

  6. For Authentication Details, select the Authentication Method that you want to use from the dropdown.

    1. For Account Key, add an Account Endpoint, Account Key, and select either combo box master or result from the Token Type dropdown.

      Th account key is the Cosmos DB account URL from the Keys blade. The account key is a master key token or a resource token for connecting to the Azure Cosmos DB REST API. .

    2. For Named Credentials, select from the dropdown.

  7. For Connection Details, add these optional inputs.

    1. Enter an Azure Tenant based on the tenant ID of the OAuth Azure App you are using..

    2. Select combo box global or china from the dropdown for the Azure Environment you want to use.

  8. To review your configuration, click Test Connection.

  9. Click Save.

After the connector details are accepted, the connection is created and listed under Connectors. You can now create data streams.
