User Permissions Needed
To create a connection:System Admin profile or Data Cloud Architect permission set

Before you begin: To set up your Jira projects with Data 360, gather Jira administration details.

  • Get a Jira User Email
  • Get a Jira URL
  • Get a Jira User Token
  • Get the Jira Project Key
  1. Get the email address of the Jira user who has permission to view and edit the projects you want to ingest. For example, the Jira administrator.
  2. You can find the account details the in the settings of your Jira account. Click your avatar to access the details.
  3. Open your settings and copy the email address. For example: your.name@yourdomain.com.

Use this procedure to create a Jira User Token (also known as an Atlassian API Token)

If you already have an Atlassian API token, you can use the same credentials and skip this procedure.

To Generate a User Token: The following instructions are also available in the Jira documentation.

  1. Navigate to Atlassian.
  2. Select Create API token.
  3. From the dialog that appears, give the token a concise Label so you can identify it from other tokens and select Create.
  4. Copy the token to a file (in a text file, for example) and save it. You will need this information to create the connection in Data 360.

After you create the token you can’t view it again. Save it in a safe place. If you lose it after you’ve set up the Jira connector, you will need to generate it again and add the new credentials to your Jira connector settings, or re-create the Jira connector.

From your Jira Administrator, get the URL for the Jira instance. For example: https://domain.atlassian.net.

From your Jira Administrator, get the Jira project key. For example: https://yourdomain.atlassian.net/jira/software/projects/project-name/boards/188 Copy the project name from the project key to a file (in a text file, for example) and save it. You will need this information to create the connection in Data 360.
