CURRENT_TIMESTAMP

Returns the current date and time.

Syntax

2CURRENT_TIMESTAMP(<precision>)

Arguments 
  • <precision>: An optional integer that specifies the number of fractional digits retained in the seconds field.

Returns 

Returns the current date and time as a timestamptz value.

Considerations 
  • CURRENT_TIMESTAMP is equivalent to NOW().

Examples 

Get the Current Timestamp 

Return the current date and time.

1SELECT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP;

Returns a value such as 2001-12-23 14:39:53.662522-05.
