Returns the minute field from a timestamp or interval. This function is equivalent to EXTRACT(MINUTE FROM ...).

1minute(<timestamp>)

1minute(<interval>)

• <timestamp>: The timestamp to extract the minute from.
• <interval>: The interval to extract the minute from.

Returns the minute as an integer.

Get the minute of the hour from a timestamp.

1SELECT minute(timestamp '2001-02-16 20:38:40') AS result;

Returns 38.

Get the minute component from an interval.

1SELECT minute(interval '30 minutes') AS result;

Returns 30.
