Upgrade with an Agent Skill
Migrate All Apps from 13.2 to 14.0
Salesforce Mobile SDK provides upgrade skills, packaged instructions that an AI coding agent uses to upgrade an app. Install the skills. Then describe the task in natural language (for example, “upgrade my iOS app to Mobile SDK 14.0”). The agent updates your dependencies, build configuration, and code for removed and changed APIs.
Install Node.js so that npx is available.
The open-source Mobile SDK Templates repository publishes the skills. Run this command from the root of the app that you want to upgrade:
1npx skills add forcedotcom/SalesforceMobileSDK-TemplatesDescribe the upgrade to your agent. The agent loads the correct skill from your request, your project’s platform, and the SDK version that the app uses now.
| Skill | Platform | Upgrade Path |
|---|---|---|
ios-upgrade-mobile-sdk-13-to-14 | iOS (Swift) | Mobile SDK 13.x to 14.0 |
android-upgrade-mobile-sdk-13-to-14 | Android (Kotlin) | Mobile SDK 13.x to 14.0 |
ios-upgrade-mobile-sdk-12-to-13 | iOS (Swift) | Mobile SDK 12.x to 13.2.1 |
android-upgrade-mobile-sdk-12-to-13 | Android (Kotlin) | Mobile SDK 12.x to 13.2.1 |
The upgrade skills apply to native Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android) apps. A native app on any Mobile SDK 13.x release, including 13.0 and 13.1, can use the 13-to-14 skill. A native app on Mobile SDK 12.x can use the 12-to-13 skill. For React Native and Hybrid apps, follow Migrate All Apps from 13.2 to 14.0. To upgrade from a version earlier than 12.0, or to upgrade a React Native or Hybrid app from a version earlier than 13.2, start with Migrating from Earlier Releases.
After the skill runs, build and test your app and review the changes before you commit them.
Note
The same repository also includes build skills (ios-mobile-sdk, android-mobile-sdk) that create a new Mobile SDK app or add capabilities—authentication, SmartStore, MobileSync, and biometric authentication—to an existing app. See Build Apps with an Agent Skill in Getting Started With Mobile SDK for iOS and Android.
