Set Up a Demandbase Connection

Create a Demandbase connection to use as a data source into Data Cloud. With Demandbase connected to Data Cloud, you can use ‌intent data more efficiently and improve the customer profile.

Before setting up a Demandbase connection, keep in mind these considerations:

  1. Have a Demandbase account, and configure your dashboard.
  2. Have access to company and intent objects in Demandbase.
  3. Turn on ‌ Secure File Transfer (SFTP) based data delivery on Demandbase.
  4. Set the SFTP server location to the location of the intent and company files.

To create a connection in Data Cloud:Salesforce Administrator

To create a Demandbase connection:

  1. In Data Cloud, click Setup, and select Data Cloud Setup.
  2. Under External Integrations, click Other Connectors, and then click New.
  3. On the Source tab, select Demandbase, and click Next.
  4. Enter a connection name, connection API name, and provide your Demandbase server details.

Authentication MethodSelect SSH Private Key or SSH Private Key & Password.
UsernameThe SFTP account used to authenticate the connection.
PasswordThe password to authenticate the user.
SSH Private KeyTo secure access, create an SSH key pair consisting of a public key and a private key. The public key is associated with the user on your SFTP server, and the private key is submitted in the SFTP connection.
PassphraseTo protect your Private Key for additional security, add an optional passphrase.
PGP Private KeyTo secure your files at rest, create a PGP key pair consisting of a public key and a private key. A private key is submitted in the SFTP connection and facilitates decryption of the files encrypted at rest by using public key.
PGP Private Key Passphraseto protect your PGP Private key for additional security, add an optional passphrase.
Host NameThe Demandbase server’s name or address, where the data is available or where it’s delivered.
Port: 22 (default)The port that the Demandbase server is running on.
Parent DirectoryThe base directory where your data stream subfolders reside, for example, doc/datacloud/demandbase/
  1. To review your configuration, click Test Connection.
  2. Save your work.

After the connector details are accepted, the connection is created and listed under Connectors. You can now create a Demandbase data stream by using a data kit or create a Demandbase data stream manually.
