Returns a three-letter abbreviated day name for a date or timestamp value.

1dayname(<date_value>)

• <date_value>: A date, timestamp, or timestamptz value.

Returns three-letter abbreviated day-name text. NULL input returns NULL.

• Names use abbreviations such as Mon, Tue, and Wed.

Return the abbreviated day name for January 1, 2024.

Returns Mon.
