Returns a three-letter abbreviated month name for a date or timestamp value.

1monthname(<date_value>)

• <date_value>: A date, timestamp, or timestamptz value.

Returns three-letter abbreviated month-name text. NULL input returns NULL.

• Names use abbreviations such as Jan, Feb, and Mar.

Return the abbreviated month name for January 1, 2024.

Returns Jan.
