Grant Instance Permissions to Control Center Users

If you have the Control Center Administrator role, or if you have Grant Permissions, you can give other individual users permissions to your instances. If your organization has a few users, specify permissions individually. If your organization has many users, use roles. You can also combine both configuration techniques. This topic applies to B2C Commerce.

You can't change your own permissions in Control Center. A user with the correct permissions can update your Control Center permissions for you.

  1. Log in to Control Center.
  2. (Control Center Administrators) Click Users. If you're not a Control Center Administrator, go to an instance and click the Users tab. Search for and select a user or add a user.
  3. On the Instances tab, click Add Instances. Optionally, assign the user to a role by clicking the Roles tab. The Select Instances slider opens, and shows a list of all realms in your organization. Expand a realm to see the instances.
  4. Select one or more instances in one or more realms, and click Add to add each to the list.
  5. Specify permissions for the instances. The permissions available for assignment depend on the instance type (PIG, SIG, or ODS). If you are a Control Center Administrator, you don't need to grant the instance permissions to yourself.
    • Reset (available only for SIG instances) — Users can initialize an instance with this permission.
    • Start/Stop — User can stop, start, and restart an instance.
    • View Statistics (available only for ODS instances) — Users can view usage statistics for an instance.
    • Grant Permissions — Users can administratively assign other users permissions for the instance. Users can only grant permissions that they already have.
