Explore Salesforce Hosted MCPs
Overview
In this module, you'll set up Salesforce Hosted MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers. These servers provide a secure, governed, and fully managed way to expose Salesforce capabilities (data, metadata, Apex, Flow, and more) to agentic systems.
AI agents and developer tools ship with MCP-aware clients that can connect to these servers thanks to the standardized protocol. MCP combined with the Salesforce Platform's trust, identity, and permissions model, makes it easy to build headless experiences and agents that operate against Salesforce data on behalf of a user.
What You'll Do
- Activate the Salesforce-hosted MCP servers, and create an External Client App to authenticate MCP clients
- Test the standard SObject All MCP server and the Headless360 (H360) MCP Server in the AIforce Playground by querying live storefront and order data and exploring the Pronto data model
- Build your own Custom MCP Server that exposes Flows and Apex as callable tools, and test all three servers together
