Manage User Access to Dataloader from MuleSoft

Dataloader from MuleSoft authenticates each user individually through Salesforce OAuth. Salesforce’s Connected App settings control access to the app. To restrict which users can open the app, configure the Connected App’s permitted user settings in Salesforce.

As of Spring ‘26, Salesforce restricts Connected App creation. Salesforce recommends using External Client apps instead. You can continue to use the existing Dataloader.io v2 Connected App during and after Spring ‘26.

For detailed information about Salesforce permissions, contact Salesforce Support. To configure access, use these steps.

  1. Log in to Dataloader from MuleSoft from dataloader.io.

  2. In Salesforce, open Setup. Under Connected Apps OAuth Usage, find Dataloader.io v2 and install the Connected App.

  3. In the Connected App’s managed policies, set Permitted Users to Admin approved users are pre-authorized then save.

  4. Add the approved profiles or permission sets in the section that appears.

Users without the approved profiles or permission sets can’t access Dataloader from MuleSoft. For more information, see Install a Connected App (Salesforce Help).
