Set Up an External Scheduling System | Health Cloud Administration

Using a scheduling system outside of Salesforce for booking and managing appointments requires some setup, including configuring identifier records, creating a named credential, and updating settings.

Configure Identifier Records for Providers and Patients
To schedule appointments using an external system, first set up identifier records. Identifier records map records in Health Cloud to corresponding records in an external system that has scheduling, such as EHR.
Create a Named Credential
Create a named credential for your external scheduling system. Salesforce handles all authentication, and you can skip remote site settings, which are otherwise required for REST calls to external sites.
Configure Intelligent Appointment Management Settings for an External Scheduler
Configure the Intelligent Appointment Management settings for the external scheduling system, including the Named Credential and the Assigned Provider Role.
Connect to the External Scheduling System
Specify the REST endpoints that connect Health Cloud to the external scheduling system.
