To set up Provider Search, first ensure your data is ready. Then you can give users access to the right fields and enable the necessary features in Setup. After that you can configure your users’ search experience.

Set Up Data for Provider Search
To use Provider Search you need records with basic information for practitioners, facilities, and their relationships.
Use Custom Fields to Run Provider Searches
In addition to the standard fields in the Provider data model, you can also run searches for providers using custom fields. To use your custom fields with Provider Search, map them to custom fields in the Care Provider Searchable Field object. You can also create custom fields to set up dependent picklists to help users search more easily.
Give Users Access to Provider Search
To use provider search and view the search results, your users need the Health Cloud Provider Search permission set and access to several fields. You must also grant access to the Analytics Cloud Integration User profile, which is used by the Data Processing Engine to generate searchable records.
Prepare to Enable Provider Search
Provider Search uses the Data Processing Engine to transform data from your provider and facility records to a searchable object. Assign the Data Pipelines Base User permission to the Health Cloud user enabling Provider Search and then enable Data Pipelines.

Enable Provider Search to let internal users and site members find the right healthcare providers.
Verify Access for Fields Used in Provider Search
Provider Search uses Data Processing Engine to create Care Provider Searchable Field Records. To ensure that the Data Processing Engine for Provider Search runs properly, the Analytics Cloud Integration User and system administrator need Read access to fields Provider Search uses.
Configure Provider Search for Users
Add the Provider Search component to a Lightning page and customize your Health Cloud users’ search experience.
Enable Users to Copy Provider Search Results
Enable the action bar in Lightning App Builder so that your users can copy and share up to 50 provider search result records.
Enable Users to Generate a Report of Provider Search Results
Upload a provider search report template, create a Document Generation Setting, and enable the action bar so that users can generate a report of provider search results.
Let Site Users Search for Providers
Make provider relationship cards available to end users in your Experience Cloud site. For example, CareMedica Health System insurance wants to enable its plan members to get information about the practitioners and facilities in its network.
Enable Guest Users to Search for Providers
Turn on Provider Search for guest users and give them the profile, permission sets, and object access needed to view provider relationship cards.
Synchronize Provider Search Data Manually
Data for Provider Search in CareProviderSearchableField is updated automatically. For Provider Search, the data pipelines definition runs one time per day. If waiting to test your setup isn’t practical, use the on-demand Provider Search data sync option.
