Verify Access for Fields Used in Provider Search

Provider Search uses Data Processing Engine to create Care Provider Searchable Field Records. To ensure that the Data Processing Engine for Provider Search runs properly, the Analytics Cloud Integration User and system administrator need Read access to fields Provider Search uses.

Health Cloud uses the Data Processing Engine to convert provider search data into a searchable format, so that users can quickly and easily find provider data. The process moves the source data to a searchable object called Care Provider Searchable Field. When you enable Provider Search, Salesforce creates the Data Processing Engine definition and an Analytics Cloud Integration User, which by default has Read access to all fields in the provider search data model.

The Data Processing Engine fails if someone changes field level security on any existing provider search field or adds a custom field and doesn’t grant Read access to the system administrator and Analytics Cloud Integration User.

To troubleshoot issues with provider search:

  1. Verify that the FHIR Data Model is enabled. The FHIR Data Model gives Read access to fields that aren’t accessible through the user interface.
  2. Verify that the Analytics Cloud Integration User and system administrator have Read access to all of these objects and fields.
