Create a Service Territory for Facilities

Create a service territory to represent a facility in which service resources operate. For example, you can represent a hospital as a service territory. Later, you can assign providers who practice at that hospital as service territory members.

User Permissions Needed
To create a service territory: Create, read, edit, and delete on Service Territories
  1. From the App Launcher, find and select Salesforce Scheduler Setup.
This app opens up multiple object tabs, including Service Territories, Service Resources, Operating Hours, and more.
  2. Go to the Service Territories tab and click New.
  3. Enter a name for your territory, such as a branch location or hospital name.
  4. If your territory is part of a larger territory, select a parent territory.
  5. Select operating hours for the territory, which indicate when appointments within the territory take place.
    • When you use Shift Management, a service territory’s operating hours are used only if you select the Use service territory’s operating hours with shifts scheduling policy.
    • Service territories ignore concurrent time slots. Therefore, select operating hours that include only non-concurrent time slots. Only service territory members can offer concurrent time slots.
    • Resources use their territory’s operating hours by default, but you can define different hours for resources.

    Note

  6. To enable users to add members to the territory or associate it with appointments, select Active.
  7. Enter an address.
This address is the location of the appointment as used in the location search in the appointment flow.
  8. Save your changes.
