To use Intelligent Appointment Management: Health Cloud Appointment Management
Before you set up Intelligent Appointment Management, complete these steps.
  1. Ensure that Person Accounts are enabled and configured for Health Cloud.
  2. Enable Data Pipelines.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Data Pipelines, then select Getting Started.
    2. Turn on Data Pipelines.
  3. Enable Provider Search.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Provider Search, then select Provider Search Settings.
    2. Turn on Provider Search.
  4. Consider setting up sharing settings to define your default internal access to Public Read Only for objects used in Intelligent Appointment Management.
Some of these objects are: Care Provider Searchable Field, Healthcare Practitioner Facility, Healthcare Provider, Service Resource, Service Territory, and Work Type.
  5. Create a Healthcare Provider record for each facility (Account) record.
Make sure each facility is represented as a business account.
  6. Create a Healthcare Provider record for each practitioner record.
Practitioners can be represented as person accounts or contacts.

While creating a Healthcare Provider record, make sure to leave the Account field empty. Populating both the Account and Practitioner fields can cause provider search sync issues.

    Note

  7. Associate practitioners with their specialties by creating a Care Provider Facility Specialty record for each Healthcare Practitioner Facility record. In a later task, you associate visit types with these specialties.
  8. Check that the patient record layout includes the mailing address field.
The mailing address field on the patient’s record is used for the driving distance filter.

Now you’re ready to enable Intelligent Appointment Management. Then you can complete additional setup tasks, including setting up profiles and user records for your call center agents and care coordinators.
